For beginning Chinese language learners, it’s essential to scale gradually towards understanding and build confidence in speaking Chinese. In this course, you will be introduced to the Chinese culture while learning basic vocabulary and phrases with a focus on Chinese pronunciation and tones. Our class begins with simple, frequently used conversational phrases in context to more complex components of the Chinese language. Together, we will be practicing our oral reading and comprehension skills as we read A-level Chinese books. You will develop a strong foundation for conversing and expressing yourself in Chinese.

 

In our Chinese immersion program, which is for advanced Chinese learners only, you will learn Chinese language skills, public speaking skills, and critical thinking skills.  You will have the opportunity to take part in oral reading/expression and breath training.  You will even perform a Chinese drama, practice tongue twisters and nursery rhymes, and learn a folk song— all in one course!
